The Buffalo Trace Rug Hookers Chapter
of the Association of Traditional Hooking Artists

Begun in 1979, the Association of Traditional Hooking Artists (ATHA) is an international organization with over 3,000 members in the United States, Canada, Western Europe and Japan. Members receive an informative bimonthly magazine as well as contacts with other rug hookers and rug hooking resources nationally. Annual membership is $24.
The Buffalo Trace Rug Hookers (BTRH) chapter was founded in 2003 by Jyl Clark and Mary Silva, owners of Cat House Rugs in New Albany, Indiana. Members benefit from "Members Only Sale Days", informal "Show and Share Hook-Ins" at Cat House Rugs, quarterly meetings and workshops and reduced fees for annual Rhapsody in Rugs events. Annual dues for BTRH are $12 in addition to mandatory membership in ATHA.
Meetings: The BTRH open hook-ins are on the first and third Thursdays of every month at Cat House Rugs from 10am-2pm. Quarterly meetings are held around the area to allow access to all members. These larger quarterly meetings are planned to inspire the beginner and experienced rug hooker, providing camaraderie for rug hookers of all ages and ability levels as well as offering members a time to show and share their rug projects and ideas.
